Application of the Informer Model and the Logistic Growth Model to Population Projections

Based on past population data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), we projected future population numbers using a self-calibrated logistic growth model and the Informer model. We also examined the predictive power of the Informer model when considering multiple variables. To assess the performance of various models, we conducted comparative experiments, including AdaBoost, k-Nearest Neighbour (knn), Random Forest, LightGBM (LGBM), and Logistic Regression models. The experiments aimed to compare the accuracy and efficiency of the models in population prediction tasks. The effectiveness and superiority of the INFORMER model in population prediction were verified, providing a useful reference for the application of artificial intelligence in related fields.
