Design and Application of Rope Climbing Robot

To satisfy the requirements for checking the PE sheath of cable-stayed bridges regularly, this paper proposes a cable climbing robot, which is mainly composed of a mechanical structure, a power system, an image signal acquisition and transmission system, a power supply system, a positioning system, an operation system, etc. The robot is also designed with anti-shake algorithm, which could bring the following effects together with the hardware anti-shake technology: No virtual image of video, image calibration noise reduction and clear photos of the rope climbing robot. As proved by field test, the recognition accuracy of defect pictures can be improved by virtue of the optimized automatic defect recognition algorithm and classified data training.
