Research on the Method of Monitoring Deformation of Transmission Towers due to Flood Impact Based on UAV Lidar Point Clouds

In response to the potential deformation issues of transmission towers caused by flood disasters, this paper proposes a set of analytical and processing techniques based on the combination of 3D laser point cloud data and hydrological analysis. This method overcomes the technical difficulties in accurately identifying and quantifying structural deformations of transmission towers, addressing the problem that traditional monitoring methods cannot cope with the rapid and wide-ranging impact assessment brought about by extreme weather events. By collecting 3D point cloud data from transmission towers affected by flooding, and utilizing point cloud analysis technology, accurate monitoring of tower deformation is achieved. Experiments show that the method proposed in this paper not only achieves high-precision monitoring effects but also possesses good feasibility and usability, playing an important role in disaster prevention, mitigation, and enhancing the safety of power grid operations.
