Transmitting and Receiving Processing of Parametric Array Sonar Multi-Beam Signals

In the measurement of shallow seabed profiles, the parametric array sonar, compared with the traditional linear sonar, can utilize its own nonlinear characteristics to transmit low-frequency narrow-wave signals with high directivity by transducers with smaller apertures, which is very convenient for the measurement. In order to improve the transmitting efficiency of the parametric array, a multi-beam transmitting form is used and a linear frequency modulated signal is transmitted to reduce the correlation between the signals. As a result, the wide-beam reception at the receiving end can be used to separate the superposed echo signals by matched filtering and DOA estimation to obtain the time delay parameters of each signal and the Boda angle, so as to further detect, localize and identify the undersea targets.
