DIM-YOLO: Desktop Item Management System Based on YOLO

The challenge of swiftly locating personal items scattered across desktops is a common inconvenience that can lead to significant time wastage. To address this issue, we introduce DIMYOLO: a novel automated solution designed to revolutionize how we manage our workspace. Utilizing the cutting-edge capabilities of YOLOv8 for advanced image recognition, DIM-YOLO offers an efficient method for the detection, tracking, and retrieval of desktop items. Our system streamlines the item management process, enabling users to locate and organize their belongings with unprecedented ease effortlessly. To validate the efficacy of DIM-YOLO, we have developed a prototype and subjected it to extensive performance testing. The initial results from these tests strongly support the viability of our approach, showcasing significant improvements in item management efficiency. Additionally, we explore the adaptability of DIM-YOLO to various item management and tracking applications beyond the desktop environment.
