Implementation of Optimized All-Optical TR Logic Gate using the Micro-Ring Resonator Structure

Optical networks are the antidote for bandwidth- related challenges and network congestion. Channeling the power of opto-switching techniques paired with digital logic can tremendously increase the speed of communication systems that are in present use. Reversible logic gates have proven to consume less computation power owing to their property of retaining information bits. This when integrated with an all-optical structure, here that is Micro-Ring resonator, brings the added advantage of reduced power dissipation. We present an all-optical realization of Thapliyal Ranganathan Gate (TR gate) that has the potential to contribute to an energy-efficient and speedy system.
