PID-Based Optimized Fuzzy Controller Design for Ball and Beam System

A ball and beam system is a classic example of a control system used in engineering and control theory. It is a highly nonlinear and unstable system posing several challenges for control system design. The majority of controller designs rely on a linearized model of the ball and beam system. To keep the ball in the required location, we first develop a lead compensator and a PID controller in this study. After designing the conventional controllers, we record the error, error derivative, and control output data. The fuzzy controller's membership functions and rule base are further optimized with the use of this data. In order to achieve the intended ball position, the optimized fuzzy controller is finally put into practice.
