Frequency Regulation in Microgrid Using Tilted Controller Tuned by Mountain Gazelle Optimization

Frequency deviations are commonplace in any power system, often arising from variations in load that can be sudden or unpredictable. Such deviations from standard or nominal values pose a threat, as they may lead to unwanted oscillations and potential damage to the power system. To mitigate these issues and prevent overshoot in system frequency, various types of controllers, including the conventional PID controllers, are employed. This paper undertakes an analysis of the impact of traditional controllers, specifically the PID controller, and compares the results with those obtained from the PTID controller (Proportional Tilted Integral Derivative). The objective is to assess the efficiency of each controller in terms of its ability to regulate the frequency of the proposed microgrid model. Through this comparative study, we aim to discern the effectiveness of the PTID controller in managing frequency deviations, providing insights into its potential superiority over the conventional PID controller in the given context.
