Light Fidelity for Digital Twins under Industry 4.0

The rapid evolution of Industry 4.0 has posed unprecedented challenges to conventional wireless communication technologies, characterised by interference, bandwidth limitations and latency. In response to these challenges, this research explores the potential of Light Fidelity (LiFi) technology as a disruptive solution for digital twin implementations within Industry 4.0 environments. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the capabilities and benefits of LiFi technology in addressing the shortcomings of traditional wireless solutions. Through innovative experimental setups and meticulous evaluation, the research demonstrates the feasibility and efficacy of LiFi-enabled digital twin systems. Quantitative metrics including Bit Error Rate (BER), Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), and latency are employed to assess the performance of LiFi technology in real-world scenarios.By seamlessly synchronising virtual models with physical entities, LiFi-enabled digital twin systems facilitate enhanced operational efficiency and real-time monitoring. The findings of this research underscore the transformative potential of LiFi technology in revolutionising communication paradigms within industrial settings. This paper also touches upon a comparison between the existing technologies and how this shift would help in the upcoming trends of inter connected technology.
