Design and Implementation of All-Optical Decoder Using Phase-Shifted Fiber Bragg Grating

this paper presents the design and implementation of a decoder utilizing phase-shifted fiber Bragg grating (PS-FBG) based optical logic gates. The realization of these gates used Coupled Mode Theory (CMT) and Cross Phase Modulation (XPM). The proposed decoder operates on the principles of optical signal processing, utilizing the unique characteristics of PS-FBG to perform logical operations. The NOT gate and AND gate serves as the fundamental building block of the decoding functionality for enabling any one of the outputs at a time for all possible input combinations. The fabrication process and operational principles of the proposed system are detailed, highlighting its potential for applications in optical computation and routing of the signal in modern communication systems. The results are generated using MATLAB simulation and verified with the conventional truth table.
