Fractional Order Control Technique for Stability Assessment of Hybrid Industrial Microgrid

The expanding level of renewable energy sources in hybrid industrial microgrids present a challenge. These sources are environmentally friendly, but grid frequency fluctuations from their variability may impair system stability. This study investigates fractional sliding mode control (FSMC) as a potential solution to this crucial problem. The study begins with a detailed hybrid microgrid model. Dynamic load profiles, batteries, and distributed generation units make up this model. After then, an FSMC law closely regulates frequency deviations. The key innovation is a fractional-order sliding surface. Fractional order control may be faster and more reliable than integer-order sliding mode control due to its additional degrees of freedom. This investigation shows that the controller can maintain system stability throughout operational and unexpected interruptions. Performance assessment is explored in this work. Simulations assess the FSMC's robustness to system parameter, settling time, and reaction time uncertainty. FSMC is used to increase hybrid industrial microgrid frequency stability. Fractional-order control makes the offered solution better than standard methods. This work uses modelling, stability analysis, performance assessment, and optimization to create robust control techniques for these sustainable energy systems.
