Fe-Cr-Nb-B Magnetic Particles for Cancer Cell Destruction

Fe-Cr-Nb-B type magnetic particles have shown great potential in applications related to cancer therapy. Their characteristics, such as size, shape and surface chemistry along with their magnetic properties make them suitable for applications such as magnetic hyperthermia, magneto mechanical actuation and chemotherapeutic drug loading and release, as well as the possibility of being transported using stem cells loaded with these particles. Furthermore, Fe-Cr-Nb-B type magnetic particles can be used to associate magnetomechanical effect on cancer cells with the effect of adsorbed and controlled release of anticancer drugs through magneto-mechanical actuation.
