Correlation between Strains, Oxygen Vacancies and Magnetotransport Properties of CaMnO3 Thin Films

We performed a detailed study of the correlation between structural characteristics of strained CaMnO
3
thin films and its magnetic and magnetotransport properties. The crystalline structure, stacking and strains and stoichiometry of two sets of CaMnO
3
epitaxial thin films grown on SrTiO
3
and LaAlO
3
single-crystalline (001) substrates were investigated by multiple techniques. Besides, the temperature and magnetic field dependence of magnetization and magnetoresistance ratio of these films were measured in order to determine the magnetic ordering, anisotropies and dominant magnetic interactions in them. The results are correlated in a phenomenological model with the strains and oxygen vacancies present in these thin films
