Magnetic Properties Stability from 5 K to 800 K in Metastable γ-Fe85Pd15 Nanowires

cylindrical nanowires were electrodeposited into alumina templates of 52 nm pore diameter, crystallizing in the metastable
$\gamma-fcc$
phase. After a thermal treatment up to 1000 K, some rearrangement and ordering in the structure is observed, while maintaining the same crystalline structure. The magnetic properties of the nanowire array are determined in a wide temperature range (from 5 K to 800 K), noticing a spin-glass-like behavior below 100 K superimposed to a modified Bloch law. It is remarkable that the magnetic properties of the as-deposited metastable phase display a continuity with respect to those observed in the high-temperature annealed one. Surface effects appear as a result of the nanosized crystallites and the small diameter of the NW, which lead to a spin-glass-like behavior. Strong inter- and intra-wire magneto static interactions are likely to influence the overall magnetic behavior of the system.
