Micromagnetic Aspects of the Magneto-Impedance Response of the FM-I-NM-I-FM Multilayer Film Driven by a High-Frequency Current

Currently, the technology of thin-film magnetoresistive elements based on amorphous ferromagnetic (FM) structures that use the giant magnetic impedance (GMI) effect to detect ultra-low magnetic fields is being actively developed. In order to select a promising design for a thin-film GMI sensor of arbitrary geometry with high sensitivity to the field, a complex model has been developed that combines the calculation of time maps of the magnetic field distribution from by alternating current from nonmagnetic metal (NM) conductor and micro magnetic analysis of the dynamics of localized spin moments in a thin-film FM shell sensitive element under the influence of a given field at each moment of time. Within the framework of the micromagnetic model, an increase in the output signal of the film FM-NM-I (insulator)-NM-FM structure with increasing current and transition to a nonlinear operating mode was demonstrated. The results obtained will be useful in developing the technology for manufacturing sensor elements based on the GMI effect in amorphous thin-film FM nanostructures.
