The Potential of Embodied Social Presence in VR News for Reducing Cyber Violence

Cyber violence is a significant societal challenge in today's society, leading to psychological trauma and social consequences for the victims. This study explores the potential of integrating Embodied Social Presence in VR News as a novel approach to address this issue. Through a comprehensive literature analysis and interview survey, the study identifies current limitations in VR news related to topics and technology. However, ESP's interactive and embodied elements can effectively stimulate empathy and reduce cyber violence. The immersive, interactive, and embodied features of ESP allow users to experience events firsthand, making it a crucial factor in reducing cyber violence. Therefore, the application of ESP to VR news holds promise in offering innovative solutions for combating cyber violence.
