Current Stress Optmization of Dual Active Bridge Converter with Dual Phase Shift Control

To address the issue concerning the dual active bridge (DAB) converter such as high current stress, high conduction loss of switches and high backflow power under the single-phase shift (SPS) control. In this paper, an optimized dual phase shift (DPS) control is proposed. Firstly, the working principle of the SPS and DPS are introduced, Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) condition is used to achieve the goal of the optimization of the current stress which is adopted to calculate the optimal combination of the inner and the outer phase shift ratio. The current stress-optimized switching strategy not only decreases current stress and losses but also enhances system efficiency. At last, the proposed method is investigated using MATLAB Simulink.
