Definitions and Terms Adjustment for Linear Control Systems

In some cases in the field of linear control systems, Conventional definitions of performance for system dynamics are not accurate enough, which leads to misinterpretations. Therefore, in this work, we try to propose precise definitions for performance metrics, according to the transient and steady state phases. Hence, specifically by addressing step response, we could adjust conventional definitions of overshoot, and settling time for systems with a zero final response values in time analysis, as well as the definition of phase margin for stability issues in frequency analysis. Illustrative examples are also included in simulation section to add more clarity to each proposed note.
