Accurate Prediction of the Dynamic Hysteresis Loops Using the Energetic Model Based on Magnetic Viscosity

when designing electromagnetic devices that are operating in peak load conditions, accurate estimation of iron losses is of utmost importance in the saturation region of the hysteresis loop a deformation or so-called swelling appears. This paper aims to accurate dynamic hysteresis loops using a new formulation of the excess field based on frequency-dependent magnetic viscosity. This study used the Bertotti’ s approach and the modified energy model (E-M). The exponent of the excess field expression has been modified to accommodate the influence of premagnetization. The latter is an appropriate function that has been used instead of a constant, resulting in an improvement at high frequencies. This improvement makes it possible to predict the saturation region when the hysteresis loop exhibits deformation or so-called swelling, enabling accurate calculation of total losses. To validate this proposal, the dynamic hysteresis loops were calculated and compared with the measurements of non-oriented materials No 3% Fe-Si.
