An Integrated AR Application with Creative Dental Health Illustration Book as a Learning Media for Children

Poor dental health is a significant public health concern, particularly among children. Caring for our dental health is a must for better health in adulthood. Studies in Malaysia found that the most common cases for children are tooth decay or cavities. However, there is currently a dearth of current and limited available educational materials for kids about oral health. Therefore, there is a need of new approach in developing a learning media about dental health for children that is effective and engaging. This development is carried out by using the ADDIE model which involves Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation. This effort is to support SDG4: Quality Education and SDG3: Good health and Wellbeing. This initiative to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education focusing on healthy loves and promote wellbeing for all at all ages. The data collection process involved the systematic use of quantitative research methods to gather valuable information. This comprehensive approach encompassed a study conducted in two distinct Sub-Urban areas located in Malaysia and Indonesia, namely the Klang Valley region in Malaysia and Jakarta in Indonesia. Preliminary research shows a lack of oral health illustrated books for youngsters in suburban locations. The findings suggest that the availability of a picture book that focuses on dental health can be of assistance to parents in the process of teaching their children about dental health.
