An Anti-Collision Skiwear Based on Ultrasonic Ranging

This paper presents the design of an anti-collision skiwear equipped with intelligent hardware and an ultrasonic distance warning system in response to the collision issues prevalent in skiing. The paper introduces the hardware system and software system applied to the skiwear and its realizable functions and proposes the methods and considerations for skillfully combining the electronic components with the skiwear. The skiwear with intelligent hardware can measure the distance between the wearers and external individuals or objects. If the distance falls below a safe threshold, displays on the suit will alert the wearers and those nearby to take evasive action. The study also highlights the importance of improving skiwear’s protective capabilities and fashion through some design elements. This research serves as a reference for developing sports apparel that can address collision concerns.
