Image based Key Management for Enhanced File Encryption

Introducing a pioneering methodology for file encryption employing image-based key management. Traditional methods frequently use complicated passwords, which puts users’ security and memory at risk. The research proposes a user-centric design that associates encryption keys with visual representations in grayscale graphics in order to streamline the procedure. Compared to traditional password-based solutions, this method seeks to preserve strong security while improving usability and accessibility by utilizing the Advanced Encryption Standard - Encrypt-then-Authenticate-then-eXtend (AES-EAX) algorithm for file encryption and decryption. The research looks on safe ways to store picture keys, maybe including steganographic methods to increase security. Additionally, extensive usability testing with a range of user groups will assess the visual approach’s efficacy for different technical backgrounds. The study concludes that this innovative strategy will maintain data security levels comparable to those of conventional password-based encryption methods while also improving user experience. By using image-based keys, it will also improve overall security, which is a fresh and potentially revolutionary advance in the area.
