Online Parameter Identification of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Lunar Rover Based on Extended Kalman

To achieve high-precision control performance of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) in complex environments, online parameter identification is necessary to obtain accurate motor parameters. Particularly in space, the intricate electromagnetic environment and drastic temperature fluctuations significantly impact the motor’s control performance. In response to the practical requirements of the system, this paper proposes a parameter identification scheme tailored for PMSM used in lunar rovers. Leveraging the motor’s voltage equation model, an Extended Kalman Filter is employed for simultaneous online identification of rotor flux and transverse axis inductance. The identified parameters are then utilized in subsequent vector control. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the parameter identification algorithm in accurately discerning the actual rotor flux and transverse axis inductance. The proposed approach exhibits feasibility and efficiency, ensuring the performance of the drive system even under external parameter variations.
