Symbol Error Probability Study of M-ary Quadrature Amplitude Modulation Technology Based on MATLAB

M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (MQAM) is a technique that modulates amplitude and phase simultaneously. In MQAM systems, amplitude and phase are modulated independently, mitigating the drawbacks of other modulation schemes in terms of noise tolerance. Therefore, these systems are particularly suitable for scenarios with limited bandwidth resources. In this paper, an in-depth study is conducted, and the symbol error probability in MQAM modulation technology is analyzed using MATLAB. Experimental investigations are conducted to systematically examine the impact of different modulation orders and signal-to-noise ratios on the symbol error probability. The experimental results demonstrate that the symbol error probability exhibits different trends with changes in the modulation order or signal-to-noise ratio, providing valuable insights for optimizing the performance of MQAM systems. The findings of this study are of significant importance for the design of digital communication systems, engineering practices, and the advancement of communication technology.
