Design and Implementation of High Reliability Beacon Signal Transmitter on Spacecraft

Satellite communication is an important part of the field of communication today, it has the characteristics of multi-access capability, flexible network, adaptability to the change of traffic volume and network structure, large coverage area, and not limited by distance and geographical conditions. Whether the earth station can timely and accurately align the satellite, a key factor is the satellite beacon. Satellite beacon and satellite transponder, is one of the indispensable important devices of communication satellite. In the complex space environment, single Event Upset of the orbiting satellite is prone to occur, which affect satellite’s work. Based on this background, this paper designs a beacon signal transmitter which is resistant to single particle flip, and expounds the working principle, hardware design and software implementation in detail. Finally the design and implementation of the transmitter is tested, the test results show that the developed transmitter can meet the requirements of signal power, signal frequency and modulation mode, making the orbiting satellite to provide remote information and tracking function for the ground. The design has small volume, light weight, low power consumption, stable performance and other characteristics, and has strong anti-single particle flipping characteristics, can adapt to a variety of satellite in orbit.
