Modeling and Simulation of Sustainable Solar PV: A Ubiquitous Computing Approach

Integrating solar photovoltaic panels with existing structures can emerge as a viable solution to the current energy crisis and reduction of carbon footprint. The goal of this research is to develop an energy-harvesting system using 3 software programs (PVSOL, PVsyst and SAM) designed for different installations that can help countries like Bangladesh meet their energy demand while reducing their carbon footprint and eschewing additional resources. Design, modeling and simulated of a mono-facial solar panel-based energy model for one of the longest bridges in Bangladesh, the Bangabandhu Bridge has been carried out with a computing manner in a sustainable way. A comprehensive energy analysis was carried out in order to acquire a better understanding of the effectiveness of the envisioned system. The resultant observations lead to the conclusion that this initiative has immense potential. The results show that the average energy yield is 2948512kWh per annum. This reliable energy can be utilized to light up the whole bridge and support the national grid during an energy crisis.
