An improved particle filter based track-before- detect method

The approximation accuracy of particles to the new target greatly affects the performance of the particle filter based track-before-detect method. An improved particle filter based track-before-detect method is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the extended orthogonal matching pursuit algorithm is used to select potential target cells. By scattering particles around the potential target cells, the accuracy of particle approximation to the new target is greatly improved. Then the particle filter is used for target detection and tracking. Finally, the effectiveness of the method proposed in this paper is verified through simulation experiments.
