Interpolation Algorithm for Cylindrical Ruled Surfaces in Multi-axis Sawing

Sawing is an effective means to achieve efficient processing of stone materials. Due to the differences in tool structures between circular saw blades and traditional cutters, algorithms suitable for the motion control of turning and milling cutters cannot be directly applied to circular saw blade cutting. In this paper, a point interpolation algorithm for the sawing of cylindrical ruled surface is proposed. The blade postures and corresponding point coordinates can be determined based on given information. A five-axis sawing machine model is then built as an example for kinematics analysis. The simulation results show that the sawing of the cylindrical ruled surface can be realized by adjusting the positions and angles of the saw blade.
