A Novel Approach for Seamless Reminder Apps for Expiry date with QR.

In India, 40% of the annual food supply is wasted primarily due to consumers forgetting or neglecting expiration dates, leading to discarding expired items. In today’s fast-paced consumer world, maintaining food inventories and ensuring the freshness of consumable goods are challenging tasks. Traditional methods of tracking expiration dates sometimes rely on manual entry or printed labels, which can be slow and prone to mistakes. QR codes offer a viable approach for streamlining this procedure and increasing user convenience. In this paper, an expiry date reminder application is proposed which will help the users to keep track of each product at their home, along with a few additional features via wireless communication. This application is designed using Quick Response (QR) code. The user can scan a QR code with a smartphone’s camera to learn more about the product, including its expiration date. Additionally, it aims to assist pharmacists in keeping track of which medications are about to expire.
