Design and Analysis of Novel D Shaped Photonic Crystal Fiber Using Surface Plasmon Resonance

In the study, we describe a new design for D shaped Photonic Crystal Fiber and analyze its uses, advantages, and disadvantages. In order to produce a dual-core output, optimized parameters are investigated in relation to certain refractive index measurements for the analyte. A graphical analysis of the amplitude sensitivity and loss values is conducted. Our sensor design observations show a clear link, suggesting that the resonance wavelength rises in tandem with the analyte’s growing refractive index. Also, we see that higher values of peak loss and amplitude sensitivity are associated with higher analyte refractive indices. Loss graphs exhibit peaks, correlating with negative peaks in amplitude sensitivity, indicative of surface plasmon polariton mode’s heightened photon energy transfer, attributed to the Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) phenomenon. These peaks serve to discern analyte presence and concentration, exhibiting specificity.
