MuteSpeak: Bridging Communication Gaps with Gestures

The mute community faces significant challenges in communicating with the rest of the world due to the reliance on sign language, which is not universally understood. Sign language, in contrast to acoustic hearing, relies on visual communication. It utilizes body language, hand gestures, and facial expressions to effectively convey thoughts. It might be difficult to communicate with those who are hard of hearing or deaf. It takes time to learn sign language, for both those without impairments and those who have them. In such cases, effective communication requires either both parties to know sign language or the use of a human translator to bridge the gap. This project aims to bridge the communication gap by designing a device based on embedded systems technology. The key components of this device include a Gesture Sensor and an Arduino. This study aims to empower the silent population and promote inclusion by facilitating effective communication between mute people and non-signer people.
