Analyzing Electric Heat Pump Modeling in an Advanced Energy Hub with Renewable Energy Integration

Establishing an energy hub emerges from the necessity to enhance energy efficiency and flexibility within the energy industry. The energy hubs being developed should be capable of meeting all forms of demand, including electricity, heating, and cooling. The energy hub is designed to work in tandem with both the natural gas and electricity grids, utilizing batteries to optimize the utilization of renewable energy (RE), reduce expenses, and improve network stability. In this study, the distribution network assumes that the energy hub is linked to a bus, and the research is viewed as integrated. An electric heat pump (EHP) has been incorporated into the energy hub, which is powered by the electricity produced by the combined heat and power (CHP) unit. The EHP generates heat and cold as needed, depending on its operating mode. Following the integration of energy hub management with the addition of the EHP, the system’s operating costs decrease by 20.8%, illustrating its profitability. Daily evaluations and analyses of the results have been conducted. According to the findings, the EHP has played a crucial role in meeting hub loads, particularly cooling loads, thereby enhancing hub energy management.
