Pioneering Adoption of TFWO Algorithm for Optimal and Efficient Deployment of Distributed Generation Resources

This study presents a groundbreaking endeavor aimed at revolutionizing the modernization and reorganization of Power Distribution Networks (PDNs) through the maiden application of the Turbulent Flow of Water-Based Optimization (TFWO) algorithm. Focused on achieving optimal and efficient deployment of Distributed Generation resources (DGs), the research emphasizes the paramount objectives of minimizing losses and bolstering network reliability. Employing a meticulously crafted methodology, the study integrates a fuzzification technique to unify disparate objective functions, thereby facilitating a comprehensive optimization criterion. Validation of the proposed approach is rigorously conducted using the IEEE Standard 69 bus PDNs, supplemented by an exhaustive comparative analysis against a Genetic Algorithm (GA) optimization strategy implemented in MATLAB software. The findings underscore the unparalleled efficacy of the TFWO algorithm, eclipsing conventional GA methods in both loss mitigation and reliability enhancement. Noteworthy attributes include TFWO’s exceptional convergence speed and precision, thus illuminating its potential as a transformative instrument for seamlessly integrating DGs within PDNs. This research constitutes a significant stride forward, heralding the TFWO algorithm as a pioneering solution to the siting and sizing of DGs problems within the domain of PDNs.
