Design and implementation a new coil and introduction a topology for electric vehicle wireless charger

Increasing fuel prices and environmental issues have made countries pay attention to clean transportation such as electric and fuel cell vehicles. A wireless charger makes charging easy and can help develop the use of electric vehicles and make them commercial. In this research, the common winding structures proposed by the researchers were simulated by COMSOL multiphysics software and its results were compared with the values reported in other research to confirm the accuracy of the data obtained from COMSOL. By optimizing the parameters, a new winding structure called SBPP is proposed. The proposed BPP-SBPP topology has about 43% less ferrite than the BPP-SP topology and is more economical and has a better performance in power transmission with a coupling factor of 0.25 at a distance of 18 cm. To validate the research results, the proposed topology is built and tested in a laboratory scale, and its results match the simulation data with acceptable accuracy. The proposed BPP-SBPP topology with high coupling factor, less ferrite and good performance can be a suitable choice for use in electric vehicle wireless chargers.
