Optimal geographical placement of solar power plants in Zanjan province

An important part of our way of our life is electricity. Renewable energy technologies such as photovoltaic (PV) cells are increasingly being recommended for electricity generation due to growing concern about greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This paper aims to provide a practical model for distributed generation which combines Geographic Information System (GIS) with Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods. In this project, suitable places for the construction of photovoltaic solar power plants are identified based on important climatic and geographical parameters and prepared in the form of a geographical map in ArcGIS

software. Finally, an atlas has been obtained in which the suitable places for installing scattered products and their types are known.
