Literature Review on Cost Management and Profitability in E-Supply Chain: Current Trends and Future Perspectives

This literature review explores the evolution of traditional cost management models in the e-supply chain, from the works of Adam Smith and Frederick Winslow Taylor to current trends and future perspectives. Traditional models, such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Activity-Based Costing (ABC), and Just-In-Time (JIT), have laid the foundation for cost management in the e-supply chain. Profitability in the e-supply chain is examined with the introduction of new parameters such as artificial intelligence, automation, proactive risk management, and sustainability integration. Blockchain emerges as a potential solution to enhance transparency and trust in transactions.
