Impact of the use of RFID technology in the sustainable management of the Supply Chain: case of Moroccan industrial companies

After the COVID-19 pandemic, many companies began to understand how vulnerable and outdated their supply chain operations were. However, even before this crisis, global supply chain managers had already begun to rethink their operations in response to some fundamental changes in the behavior of not only retailers but also consumers and suppliers; Faced with a world of institutional change and increasing technological progress, companies are seeking to integrate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and implement Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) using digital tools and techniques.; among these technologies, we deal in this paper with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). In this sense, how does the use of RFID constitute a strategic lever in the sustainability of the supply chain? on a cross-literature review in technology and supply chain, as well as on a qualitative empirical study based on interviews processed by NVIVO and conducted with 12 companies in the industrial sector in Morocco, this article presents and discusses a set of propositions that respond to our research question.
