Green supplier selection criteria in automotive industry

The purpose of this study is to carefully choose and evaluate the green selection criteria that are applied by automobile sector enterprises when choosing their suppliers. We suggest utilizing the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for data analysis in our hybrid multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach. The first stage was to identify green selection criteria for suppliers, a procedure that was guided by the body of existing literature. Subsequently, the opinions of five experts were gathered to evaluate the significance of these green criteria in alignment with the objectives of the automotive industry. Using the AHP methodology, weights were assigned to these criteria. Notably, “Sustainable Product Design” received the highest weight (0.164), followed by “Health and Security” (0.153), "ISO 14001 Certification" (0.129), “Green Packaging” (0.105), and “Investment Recovery” (0.094). These five criteria carry the greatest weight, underscoring their paramount importance in future research for the evaluation of green criteria in supplier selection within the automotive industry.
