The Multidimensional Impact of Information System Integration on SCM : Evidence from Citrus Packing Stations in Morocco

This study delves into the pivotal role of Information System (IS) integration in enhancing Supply Chain Management (SCM) within the Citrus Packing Stations established in Morocco, a critical component of the national agricultural sector. Amidst climatic challenges and the need for market competitiveness, this research addresses the significant gap in understanding how IS adoption influences SCM effectiveness, both directly and indirectly. Employing a mixed-methods framework, this study synthesizes qualitative insights and quantitative analyses to validate a comprehensive research model that evaluates IS integration's influence across seven key SCM dimensions: product quality, operational cost reduction, delivery timeliness, inventory management, customer satisfaction, supply chain visibility, and overall SCM effectiveness. The findings reveal significant predictive relationships between IS integration and SCM enhancement, highlighting the transformative potential of technology in optimizing supply chain operations within Morocco's citrus sector. Despite its focused scope on the citrus industry, the study acknowledges its limitations and suggests broader exploratory research to generalize findings across diverse agricultural domains. Additionally, it underscores the potential of emerging technologies like machine learning and advanced analytics to further revolutionize SCM practices. This research offers valuable insights for both scholars and practitioners aiming to leverage technology for supply chain optimization, thereby supporting economic growth and sustainability in agriculture.
