Mediating the role of Internet of Things in Sustainable Automotive Supply Chain: Practical Evidence from a Delphi Analysis

Businesses are implementing environmentally conscious practices in response to the significant environmental challenges that humanity will face over the next decade. In order to develop an environment-based perspective, in this study, a sustainable automotive supply chain (SASC) is integrated with Internet of Things (IoT) technology and offers concrete steps toward a more prosperous ecological future. Based on 29 factors that represent the rectifications of four stakeholders, the research provides a theoretical framework for evaluating SASC operations in the ReSOLVE model using IoT. The framework was then verified using two exhaustive rounds of a Delphi study that involved professionals from the IoT, SASC, and sustainability domains. The findings indicate that companies could enhance the connectivity among the primary IoT tools in SASC by utilizing the proposed conceptual environmental framework. This would facilitate the formulation of cohesive strategies aimed at fostering sustainable growth. This study makes a substantial contribution to the body of knowledge regarding the sustainability and digitalization of the SASC, especially in light of the severe pressure, heightened competition, and unpredictability that the SASC faces.
