Impact of Industry 4.0 technologies on logistics function: A case study on warehouse operations management in the automotive sector

The current economic context is characterized by an increasingly volatile and unpredictable demand with an increase in the variety of products necessitating several alternatives to generate added value. Industry 4.0 or the Fourth Industrial Revolution is disrupting companies and bringing about radical changes. The effects of this transformation need to be managed through a comprehensive vision, a digital strategy, a redefinition of professions, as well as optimal integration and use of digital tools. This transformation in Morocco is a real opportunity to develop the manufacturing sector and economic growth.The main purpose of this article is to demonstrate the impact of Industry 4.0 technology on logistics performance and improvement benefits. The importance of logistics 4.0 is described in the first part of this article, as well as earlier research on industrial 4.0. In the next part, our methodology to measure performance with Logistics 4.0 is presented.t. The third part will focus on the application of our new methodology to a case study concerning warehouse operations management in the automotive sector. Finally, summary and future research directions will be presented.
