Where are you going, logistics of the future? : (Quo vadis logistica futuri?)

The current economic context, the increasing complexity of logistics systems and processes and the increasing unpredictability of the business environment in which enterprises operate require a new look at expectations towards logistics. In the light of the importance of theory in scientific research, the key research problem in this article, which is controversial in its theoretical dimension, is to determine potential directions of changes in thinking about future logistics in the context of its transposition from the current state. This goal will be achieved through a systematic review of the literature, deductively leading to an attempt to systematize the dimensions and optics of perception of contemporary logistics. The research process also used the results of surveys, which had a monomodal inquiry character, allowing for the identification of the opinions of Gen Z respondents in relation to the image of the future image of logistics. The adopted methodological approach forced the need to reflect on the future of the perception of the concept of logistics, especially since the world is no longer only physical, but cyberphysical. Finally, an original formulation of the future framework for perceiving logistics took place and a revised definition of the future supply chain was established by taking into account various main challenges, highlighting new elements of flow, both in the cyber and physical world.
