Accommodation Smoothing Method and Performance Regarding UE Placement in Blockchain-RAN

In blockchain-based radio access network sharing (B-RAN), user equipment (UE) and a base station (BS) make a connection contract using blockchain. This enables UEs to utilize various BSs securely, including private BSs, without a centralized control station. However, since the selection of BSs and connection contracts between UEs and BSs are done individually, UE connections may be concentrated at specific BSs even when other BSs are available. This may occur degradation of communication quality. We therefore propose a method of controlling connection parameters by extracting UE transition information and the number of accommodated UEs from the blockchain ledger. Our method can smooth the number of accommodated UEs with autonomous and decentralized offer-price control. The results of computer simulations demonstrated that the proposed method could smooth the communication quality provided to UEs regardless of biased UE placement.
