The Comparison of Machine Vision Approaches for Standard Industrial Solutions

Stereovision (2D), the most frequently used approach for implementing inspection tasks, proves its usability through many practical solutions in SME enterprises. There are several reasons, starting with economic ones and ending with implementation into an actual process. Due to this, our article aims to compare suitable camera system for recognizing the selected sensed object properties. Also, there is a realisation of the inspection tasks such as reading text, bar-codes, or finding (counting) an object in the field of vision scene with the 60% minimum matching and execution duration up to 25 [ms]. Besides, the authors want to point out a systematically oriented solution suitable for commercial enterprises based 90% recognition success, and max twelve products finding. By using and combining software modules into the 2D camera system, was proven the theoretical findings and then realized their experimental testing directly at an actual workplace. Moreover, by comparing the obtained values, it is possible to recommend a combination of industrial inspection applications to the required task and the success score. Also, part of the article compares individual types of inspection detection, considering their complexity or knowledge of programming language.
