Using Matlab for Automatic Detection of the ECG Signal Characteristic Features

Biological signals are most often one of the most important carriers of information about human health. It should be noted that the value of the signal amplitude is so small that it is necessary to use specialized measuring equipment that will ensure the appropriate recording quality. Despite this, key information about the health condition is often still hidden from the eyes of medical staff, and even with a high level of experience of the person reading the recorded signal, an unexpected error in diagnosis may occur. Therefore, tools in the form of applications supporting doctor's decisions are increasingly used. However, such applications must be characterized by high assessment accuracy so that the obtained result does not raise any doubts about the diagnosis. In the conducted work, an attempt was made to develop an algorithm allowing the assessment of the electrocardiographic signal using the capabilities of Matlab software. The article presents some of the research conducted, focusing primarily on the detection and determination of QRS complexes.
