Developing Automated System with Motion Sensor for Electrical Charged Equipment using Arduino Uno

The rapid growth of technology has been applied to different areas of a person's daily routine. One of the areas is the automation system that is being applied to our spaces. This study uses the Kalman filtering and Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) algorithm for the motion detection of the system connected to the main controller, which is the Arduino UNO, wherein the electric load state and time of the day will be programmed. The researchers tested the system in a room, measuring the accuracy of the motion algorithm, the time set for the scheduling feature, and the energy consumed with and without the prototype. In summary, the automated system of the study with the MATLAB algorithm, Kalman filtering, and GMM with time scheduling through Arduino can indeed be a cost-effective, energy-saving, and helpful tool that can apply to office spaces.
