Prior Emergency Ambulance Tracking Android Application for Traffic Cops Using GPS Technology

Traffic congestion, still remains a major issue in metropolitan regions, creating delays in the medical assistance especially to the ambulances. Even though traffic cops try to clear the traffic whenever there is an ambulance, the clearance is time consuming. To address this problem, this paper proposes a novel android application which is designed to assist traffic cops in efficiently managing the traffic congestion and ensuring the timely clearance of roadways before the arrival of the emergency ambulances. This android application harnesses the power of GPS tracking technology to enable real-time monitoring of ambulance locations by priorly knowing of its arrival through the specific route and the destination hospital, allowing traffic cops to promptly make informed decisions and prioritize the smooth passage of emergency ambulance through congested roads to the hospital. The successful implementation of the project has the potential to significantly improve patient's safety and emergency response effectiveness in urban environments.
