A Comparative Analysis of Hard and Soft Skills Required by Software Development Companies in Ecuador

The software development industry is constantly evolving, and software developers skills are constantly changing. This study aimed to identify the hard and soft skills that are required by software development companies in Ecuador. A dataset of job offers from four different platforms was collected and analyzed using web scraping and Python programming. The results of the analysis showed that the most in-demand hard skills were experience in different web programming languages and frameworks, while the most in-demand soft skills were communication in English language, teamwork, and creativity. This study provides valuable insights to software developers who want to improve their skills and increase their chances of employment in the Ecuadorian software development industry.
