A Novel Current Prediction Method for SRM Based on Reluctance Compensation

To enhance the stability of model predictive control (MPC) for switched reluctance motors (SRMs), this paper proposes a current prediction method employing reluctance compensation. Based on the working characteristics of variable reluctance in SRMs, the predicted reluctance is compensated according to parameters such as current and voltage in each phase, making it closer to the actual reluctance. By integrating the motor state equation, more precise current prediction values are derived through reverse derivation. The experimental results have shown that the current prediction method proposed in this paper has a significant effect on suppressing torque ripple when applied to traditional model predictive torque control (MPTC).
