Self-Triggered Dynamic Consensus-based Distributed Secondary Control of DC Microgrid

Dynamic (average) consensus-based secondary control (SC) is a common and effective method to achieve distributed voltage recovery and load-sharing for multi-bus microgrids (MGs). However, dynamic consensus requires high communication and update rates, posing a high burden for communication networks, networked sensors, and controllers. Existing selftriggered mechanisms for conventional static average consensus are not suitable for dynamic consensus with exogenous inputs. Therefore, a novel self-triggered dynamic consensus-based SC is proposed in this paper for DC MG with networked sensors to reduce communication and computation burden. Stability of the self-triggered SC is demonstrated via Lyapunov analysis. Switchlevel simulations show that the proposed self-triggered strategy can significantly reduce communication and computation rates of SCs compared to the non-triggered and existing self-triggered strategies, and the proposed SC also demonstrates a faster convergence speed compared with the existing self-triggered SC.
